Biography
Born and raised a Texan, Rhiannon loves living in the capitol of that great state. She has always loved telling stories and could not wait to learn how to write when she was a little girl. Throughout her childhood, she wrote stories and dreamed of a day when she would be published author.
She previously wrote for two Central Texas magazines covering the goth/industrial scene before deciding to devote her time and energy to her fiction writing. Her zombie trilogy, As The World Dies, was originally posted online and gained a huge following. When she finished the zombie epic in 2007, her fans encouraged her to pursue publication. After being discouraged by the query process to secure an agent, her husband proposed they publish the work themselves. Utilizing the new media tools of the internet, they worked together with friends (who edited and created the artwork) to release the first book, As The World Dies: The First Days, in August 2008 for her fan following using the Amazon.com company Createspace.
The book was a success, selling over 4,000 copies in the first year and a half after release and garnered praise from readers, reviewers and other authors in the genre. The following books in the series have also been quite successful and the trilogy has been optioned for a possible TV show. Rhiannon has since been approached by a publishing house, which led her to secure a literary agent, Hannah Gordon, from the Foundry Literary + Media agency.
Rhiannon continues to write and has a new zombie novel, Living Dead Boy, slated for release through the Library of the Living Dead Press. Her modern vampire tale, Pretty When She Dies, has been optioned by Tripod Entertainment for a possible feature film.
With the support of her husband, family, and fans, Rhiannon hopes to continue to carve out her niche in the horror genre utilizing both the traditional and independent publishing paths.
In her free time, she likes to read, write, game, shop with friends, and attend events in the goth scene in Central Texas. She has a passion for Hammer and George Romero films, and loves to collect movies. She enjoys attending conventions to meet her fans, network with other authors and support her writing endeavors.
